During ancient Roman times, Paris was known as "Lutece"
I know people who refer to Paris as "Paname" - as a nickname

The museum, the "Louvre" is home to the Mona Lisa, in French, we call her "la Joconde"

In Roman times the city was known as Lutetia or Lutetia Parisiorum ( meaning "Lutetia of the Parisii" with the Parisii being the Celtic tribe that lived there).

Paris has many nicknames, but its most well known is La Ville-lumière("The City of Light").

Paname, which has already been mentioned, is a slang word coined iin the early part of the 20th century which is regaining some popularity today.

And, as everyone has said, its the Louvre that houses the Mona Lisa.
