I like France... I lived in Paris for about 2 years and loved it. Unlike most AmeriKans, I was fluent in Fench at the time (20 years ago) so I got along just fine... but most AmeriKans, who have never been outside their own country, have heard how the French are and they repeat it because they don't know any better...
Plus... the French speak... gasp... FRENCH... and AmeriKans don't like anyone who doesn't talk AmeriKan. |

I am an American. I studied abroad in France years ago and I have to say it was one of the best things I ever did. The French treated me graciously and I loved seeing your country. In recent years I have joined an Alliance Francais in the State where I live. I attend events and practice the language. Unfortunately it is a stereo type here in the US that the French dislike Americans. But those of us who know better work to dispel that belief. It is a stereotype based on ignorance. Don't worry to much when you meet Americans who bemoan the fact that the French want them to speak French in France. Because those same Americans are just as hard on non-english speakers that visit the US - so yes - there is some hypocrisy going on!
Where would I like to go in France? Paris, the loire valley, Provence, Normandy and Bretagne. All over!
I'd love to live there! |

Coucou!
France is a country full of many great things! I love everything about this country... the people, culture, lifestyle everything! I love and enjoy good food, great wine, delicious cheese..very cute Frenchmen (sorry, had to include that!) I have family in France (Mennecy and Paris) but sadly, I've only been there once! But I'm going again this summer, Im so excited! The first time I went, I expected that the French were going to be snotty and rude to tourists/foreigners but I was so wrong! I have never bumped into a rude French person, everyone were so nice I smiled to everyone that passed and I ended up loving everything! It was a bit of a culture shock for me and I believe that this was supposed to happen becuase now I study French, and working on a scholarship to study there for 9-11 months, and I'm hoping to get it! I have been to Paris, Mennecy, Normandie area, Bretagne area, and the mountainside village of Megeve. I really want to move to France, it would be a dream come true! If I could live anywhere in France it would have to be in Megeve or St. Malo! I love these places. So for your last question.. yes, I would ABSOLUTELY love to live in France!
bisous, a plus! ;) |
