her visa requirement is solely based on her current nationality/citizenship, thus her actual passport, NOT whether she's on a british spouse visa, american green card or what not. british spouse visa, british residency, american green card, etc are however additionally required to prove that the alien, upon leaving EU, is able to return to and enter where his/her travel return ticket is for. for instance, if your travel ticket shows return to UK, well prove it, are you british citizen? or do you hold british residency? or even british tourist visa? so you wouldn't be denied entrance to UK and we, the EU, wouldn't take the crap by getting you bounced back to us, literally. |

It's all a question of what her citizenship is. US citizens, or a citizen of any Schengen treaty partner, do not need to get a visa ahead of time.

That's depends from what non-EU country is. I'm from Romania (not in Schengen space), and since 2002 we don't need visa for the countries from this space. |

I am not sure but I believe not. In any case you can surprise her with the trip but give her the time to get a visa. It takes a month but can be accelerated. |

sorry mate, can't help you there. but for the romantic part. walking along the seine river at night, ( the river near effiel tower, you can't miss it, it's right there) because every night the effiel tower lights up for i think like 15 minutes and it is so romantic if you walk together at night and just see it. have fun! |

Yes she would need a visa, but you can still keep the trip a surprise buy using: VISA EXPRESS, you just full out the forms and sign on her behalf no one will be the wiser....
p.s. don't let the visa company know you signed on her behalf!!! |
