Should i go on a trip to france or get a new laptop? |
i really want both but i dont think my parents will pay 1800 for me to go on a 9 day trip to france with my class and then buy a new laptop that cost 1500. plus, they pay $100 every month for my dance classes. they said they spend a lot of money on me already and think im too spoiled. but i really dont take these things for granted. i had always wanted to go to paris. its one of my dreams to go there.and as for the laptop, i've been having this one for 3 years now and i had it repaired like twice already. and to top that off, my battery would die if i unplug the charger for even a minute. i seriously need a new one. if i could, getting a job would be an option but i cant because i have cheer(EXPENSIVE) practice almost EVERYDAY, right after school til 5:30. then i have to go home and do homework. i just dont have time for a job. my dad wouldnt let me work anyways, he thinks im too young. IM 15. i feel bad having them pay for everything i'll just choose one. but idk which one i want more |

Go to Paris.
You can walk in the steps of Picasso, Utillo and Lautrec in Montmartre or you can do email.
You can go to the Cafe Procope and sit in the same booth that Benjamin Franklin occupied or you can play Warcraft.
You can see the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, and the Raft of the Medusa in the Louvre with your own eyes or you can receive e-cards.
Go to Paris.
Connect with the presence of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Hemingway, James Joyce, Alice B. Toklas, Gertrude Stein, ands the ghosts of the Lost Generation, the Gilded Age, and the Enlightenment.
Walk along the rue St. Jacques and touch the pavement where once Roman legionaries trod.
See Notre Dame, St. Chapelle, and Sacre Coeur to understand the heights to which man soars to speak to his god.
Visit the Memorial to the Deported and be reminded of the depths to which he can sink when he turns away from Him.
Go to Paris.
Learn that life doesn't have to be fast food and coffee in a cardboard cup and that there is still a place for leisurely meals and just watching the world go by.
Understand that there are different ways of living, different ways of thinking and that maybe, just maybe, people in other countries have something to teach us.
Go to Paris.
And yes, do it when you're young. Do it at the first opportunity.
Maybe you will have other chances. I hope you do. But maybe not. And if, some day, you are sitting, grey haired before the fireplace, in the twightlight of your life, do you want to be able to remember Paris or a new laptop?
Go to Paris. |

Go to France, you will never forget the experience. You can get a laptop later.
If you want both now, get a job. 1500 can add up quick. Plus it will show you can do it. |

go to france, when you get back get a job, save your money and get a laptop, a trip overseas is priceless in the long run, a laptop will go out of date in 6 months. |

going to france with your class? DO IT!!! i went with my class and it was the most incredible experience of my life! no exaggeration, i changed so much in those few days. it is something you will never regret, so go for it and enjoy every last second, i wish every day that i could go back |

go to france. IT is an experience that will pass and would not happen again at the same exact moment of your life. you might be able to go to paris later, but maybe not with your friends or classmates you have now. the experience would be worth more than what you pay for as it would broaden your horizon.
the laptop thing would always be there when you come back, and with an old laptop, the only thing needed for the moment is to buy a new set of batteries and use the old thing until it completely dies. you might be able to get a battery for less than a hundred dollars.
a new laptop maybe cool, but the experience you would get from a foreign travel would be healthier and better for you. |

I agree with Rillifin. Go to Paris. In my lifetime I have had the great pleasure of visiting Rio De Janerio, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bermuda, Manila, Sydney, Wellington, Mexico City, Yokohama, Toronto, Quebec, San Francisco, Hawaii, Los Angeles,Chicago,San Diego, Denver, Miami and a thousand other cities throughout the US in 42 different States.A lap top? Pack your bags. There aren't a lot of 30 year old cheer leaders anyway. If you are going to be spoiled, (which you already are) take the things that will last a lifetime. |

I say the laptop, in the long run, it's better. Plus, it's cheaper than just a trip to France, which could be possible maybe later in your life. |
