Should i move back to England? |
Been living in Paris area for last four years, have a one year old boy.
We have no friends here. We have no contact with anyone during the day. My son sees my husband for an hour in the mornings before he goes to work, but we see no one else during the day and my son goes to sleep before my husband gets home.
Love my husband dearly but have no life her for myself Just look for ways to kill time during the day.
How can i sort out my life that we are all happy? Would like to move back to England but think my husband career does much better here. We have also bought a flat out here.

While I would certainly recommend trying to meet some locals, if you're really missing the company of native English speakers that badly I'd suggest taking advantage of the fact that Paris has a large expat community. Check the Paris Voice and FUSAC (France USA Contacts). They have personal ads relating to people looking for platonic friendships as well as cultural and social activities throughout the city and surrounding area. There are also a number of pubs, restaurants, and bookshops with English, Irish, Scottish, American etc themes throughout the city, many of which advertise in the Paris Voice and FUSAC. I wish you luck in meeting new people and adapting to life in Paris. I know from personal experience that it can be hard but the key is to remain positive and make the effort to "get out there". |

Hi darling, i recommended you to see the prices in London in renting,jobs, schools etc. London is incredible, England is incredible but sorry to say, incredible expensive. A maddness.
I tell you this because is very important for planning.
If you want to go i recommended you not going to London where everything is so expensive,you can live in other cities or Surrey or Middlesex that's 30 minutes of train to Waterloo station then the metro.
It's better because is quiet, you can have for the price of a very small 2 bedrooms in London a house with garden in Surrey or other areas.
English people is lovely, you can make some friends, is easy than french people i believe, and the got a sense of humor unique.
The jobs ussually finish at 5 o'clock,then you can have more time for your family .
If you finally decide to got to live in England and renting a house, this is silly but : see the amount of council tax!!!.
It's huge in some areas!!!
