I cannot offhand think of a reason the French should encourage the English - as opposed to any other nationality -to buy property there. What cultural or gastronomic benefit do you think the English could add to French society? My experience of the English abroad - with a few exceptions - is that they group together to form a "Little England" with their own pubs, restaurants schools and clubs to the exclusion of natives of that country. Just look at the Dordogne or even worse Spain. |

No, it seems the English don't need to be encouraged to that they do it by themselves... more than 600000 of them own a house in France, my God, it the Hunderd Years War again !!! No, I'm joking, no problem if they try to meet the French instead of staying together without learning the language nor trying to integrate ... |

Ha ha ha, your question is laughable, your mean the French could not wait to do more to disencourage the English to buy property and live in France. They've had enough of the English. |

They appear to be reluctant, of, even encouraging the French, to buy property in France! Germans though; no problem!! |

They don't need to encouragement,it's full of Brits who are sick of the UK economy. The French are upset cos we're buying up property and so raising their house prices, like in Spain-but it serves them right for letting illegal immigrants queue up in Calais to get in the back of lorries to the UK so they don't have to keep them! |
