You can certainly visit the coast of Normandy from Paris very easily for a few days. The castle at Fontainebleau and the Cathedral of Chartres are also popular side trips.
I don't think I need to mention Versailles, as that's so close that it could easily be done as a daytrip.
Paris is also well situated for exploring many European cities outside of France. Using the high-speed Eurostar trains -- Brussels is 2 hours away, London is 3 hours away, and Amsterdam or Cologne is 4 hours away. |

Probably either Normandy or the Loire River region.
In Normandy, you have Normand villages, beautiful beaches, the D-Day beaches and memorials and Mont St Michel.
In the Loire River area, there are the most beautiful castles in France-there are at least a dozen which are absolutely incredible. |

Anywhere in France would be nice during summer, but if I had to choose, the Loire valley where many of the chateaux have " Son et Lumiere " shows ( They are lit at night ). |

Normandy or the Loire Valley are sure bets, but you may need more than 3-4 days to fully explore either ones.
The main concern is that there is no central place which could give you easy access to all interesting places of these areas as they are quite large.
Normandy: from the Mount Saint Michel to Etretat
Loire Valley: from Sully sur Loire to Saumur
You may also stay in Paris, rent a car and explore the area within 100km of Paris. There are heaps of things to see there. |
