Flat fare rate from Terminal 1 gate 20 to downtown Paris is 45 € (US$ 58) -that's if you take the official ones but a few touts are also operating. Anyway have fun in France !

Taxis are very expensive in France. That is going to cost you around 60$usd

Pretty expensive. Depending on traffic and such, probably around 50-60 euros.
Don't take a taxi. Take the RER from CDG to Gare du Nord, then change to either line 4 or 5 and go one stop to Gare de l'Est. It costs 5 euros.
