I am English and live in France. My wife was a fully qualified teacher in the UK and speaks fluent French. When she enquired about teaching jobs in France she was told that she would need to spend a year further training in France (a sort of conversion course) before she could be considered a fully qualified teacher. Bear this in mind although if you go for the private sector then there is no such requirement.

You could try going to an online TEFL service. Or you could check out the French Embassy's web site. Or you could go to France and see what you can get. Are you certified? BA in English, maybe? Remember that if you aren't an EU citizen you're going to have to jump through extra hoops. It's the same all over Europe--the hoops for non-EU citizens. And you WILL need a piece of paper that states your qualifications.

France is the hardest country in Europe to get a work permit for, especially for non-EU citizens who don't speak French. Be prepared to work hard and pound on every door on Paris for visa sponsorship while also making a case that you are a VERY skilled worker. This will prove extremely difficult as France has been economically sluggish for the last 25 years and has had some of the worst unemployment in Western Europe. Jobs in France are reserved for French citizens above anyone else.
