Les halles is your best bet. it has all sorts of shops and restaurants, movie theaters and a FNAC (sort of a megastore).
a weird thing to do would be the Catacombes (a tunnel network with tombs. skeletons ... guide tour only)
Montparnasse is another area with lots of shops and cafe.
I'd still recomend you that you do some of the touristy sites (Eiffel tower, arc de triomphe... so when you get back home, you can talk about these!)

There are no age-related legal constraints against alcohol consumption - get your fill! Just kidding. (Unless this is something you'd like to try. If so, be prudent and safe.) Anyway, there is plenty to do apart from sight-seeing and shopping in the French capital, and the best resource to consult would be travel guides by Fodor's and Lonely Planet, available in libraries and bookstores everywhere. Here's a link to a Fodor's Paris guide, available at Barnes and Noble: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Fodors-Paris-2008/Caroline-Trefler/e/9781400017942/?itm=1. In addition, Lonely Planet provides terrific online travel advice and tips at lonelyplanet.com. Check these out!

There is lots of shopping on the Champs Elysees or in Les Halles (shopping center).

The bateaux mouches (boats) are fun to go on to really see the city.
