i found that this site helped me...all you need is a little dictionary to help wid sum words and u will get by...isnt the whole part of traveling is to experience new things so dont worry just enjoy!

The metro is all in French (as will almost everything else - the French value their language very much and do not see why they should translate things for people who are coming to their country) but it is honestly so easy to use. Much easier than the Tube. Also you know where you need to go so you will recognise that word. There are maps as well.
Paris is lovely you will have a great time! :-)

You need to get a couple of good guidebooks. Not to do so would be foolish.

For the sights, your best bet will be
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FParis-Michelin-Green-Guides%2Fdp%2F2067121634%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks%26qid%3D1228818144%26sr%3D1-3&tag=larpmasguidet-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

For hotels and hostels, try
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FParis-City-Guide-Steve-Fallon%2Fdp%2F1740598504%2F&tag=larpmasguidet-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

A good guidebook or two will improve the quality of your visit and in the long run save you time, and money and minimize your hassles.

This site will be of use to you as it has a handy Paris tourism map under the "tourism" tab you will see a list of top Paris sights and attractions outlined on their exact locations. Whilst under the "shopping" tab there is a shopping overview of the city;
