Transfer at Charles de Gaulle airport. Will I make it? |
I'm flying Air France from Chicago to Tel Aviv with a 2 hour layover in Paris. On my return flight from Tel Aviv I land at 12:20 PM. Air France told me I might have to go through security again to catch my flight back to Chicago. They said I would have to be on board my Chicago flight at 12:30. My question is do I have to go through security again and if so would I make it in time to meet there 12:30 deadline? The plane does not take off until 1:15 pm. Any idea on what happens if I land on time and do not make it to my next flight by 12:30? Any answers would be appreciated. Additional Details it appeared I had 55 minutes between flights when I booked it. After booking it gave me more information and said I must be on the flight at 12:15, 5 minutes before I even land. It would cost several hundred dollars more to rebook. |

No, you will not make it. Even if you don't have to go thru security a 10 minute transfer time is simply absurd. Rebook this flight. |

No. Foolish. Rebook. Even if by the grace of God you do, you'll be sweating buckets and running like hell. It'll be awful any way you look at it. Boo. |

No, you're not going to make it. CDG is dreadful airport to get around at the best of times, and you'll need at least an hour between flights.
What happens if you miss the connection depends very much on how you made the booking. If the Tel Aviv - Chicago trip was made in the one booking, then Air France should put you on the next flight at no extra cost.
However, if two separate bookings were made, then it's a problem. While it might cost you several hundred dollars to rebook, but how much will it cost you if you miss the flight?
If you booked through a travel agent you need to go back to them and see what they suggest, because they should have known better with an international transfer.
If booked directly with Air France, then contact the company.
But if you made your own arrangements, without checking the turnaround time first, then you will have to bear the additional cost of either rebooking the flights, or a new flight if you're late. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no
Sorry it'll cost ya, but I'd go ahead and rebook now, rather than try to rebook in CDG when you miss the flight |

No you won't make it, and even if by some miracle you could sprint that fast, your luggage wouldn't make it. The airline is under no obligation to put you on another flight for free, so your best bet is to rebook. |
