# means dial the code for international call in your country. For most it is 00, you have to check for yours.

Then you dial the international code for the country. France is 33

You take the 0 off the local number as it is the code for internal (local) call to be used only if you are in the country. You have already told the system that you were doing an international call by entering # 33, no need to confuse it.

Cell phones (06 is a cell code) are expensive to call. Beware.

So the number to enter is # 33 6 54 76 62 56

From the US: 011-33-654-76-62-56
(011 is the US code for international and 33 is the code for France. Then dial the French number but drop the initial 0 when calling from abroad - it's only used when calling from France)

Careful, this is a cell phone number (they start by 06) and it's going to cost you a lot. Calling a cell in France costs 13 times the price of calling a land line.

Calling to France
Check out this link
It is very helpful
http://www.countrycallingcodes.com/

For the person who said calling from Canada is 00 as the exit international code is incorrect The USA and Canada have 011

If as the majority of the posters said that 06 is a cell phone , it will be very expensive to call, even with a calling card.

To search for cheaper calling card rates , check out this link

Here is a site that has a cheap calling card rate to France from the USA
