Parisians like people who speak French. In central Paris especially they can be socially cold toward foreigners without good French....a tip often often quoted on travel sites and forums. Your best bet without good French is a place that caters for English speakers. Backpacker hostels,hotels or tour companies come to mind,though the hostel jobs are taken quickly by backpackers who stay on in a place to increase their funds and hear of the jobs 'on the spot'...a big advantage. Search British or American tour guide companies based in Paris or with a Paris Office,or local ones catering specially for English speakers. Would be a good start. Best of luck.

Well there is a world crisis so getting a job in Paris with or without French is a bit difficult however you can land a job in Paris without speaking French because your English and the fact that you are a native speaker is an asset.
You can try http://www.fusac.fr/ , it is a website coonnecting English speakers in France together. There are job offers for English speakers such as phone surveys in English for opinion polls
You can be an ESL teacher, you can look for a job as an English teacher or spontaneously offer private tuitions.
You can work in an Irish pub (even if you are not Irish all the waiters I met in those pubs were either Kiwis Australians or British) they just want someone from an English speaking country for the style.
You can also be a guide for Anglo Saxon tourists.
Well good luck and you will probably suffer with all the red tape.

When it comes to languages, the French are protective and proud of theirs. They do not like people who come to their country and don't speak the language. And the dislike people who come to their country to work and live and don't speak the language. Even trying to speak their is not good enough for them. That's the way they are. No judgment call. Just a fact. And the job market in France is as bad as in the UK or in the US. If you do go to France an search for a job, my advise is to find a British company operating in Paris that offers French language lessons to it's employees. Good Luck.
