We are taking a group of 27 French students to Rome & Paris next Summer. Any one have any fundraising ideas?

I am interested in fundraising and/or grants. Our group is scheduled to leave June 21, 2007. We are a small rural school located in a very small town. This trip will be an opportunity that many or most of our students will never have again. They will learn about the different cultures and much more. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well the best way to save money on a trip is to have tour companies compete for your bid. I don't know if you are traveling w/ a tour company, but that will sure save you money to have companies competing for you. As far as fundraisers go, you could raise money through community walks (say like $5 to walk), you could have a community barbeque/fish fry/etc...you could even put on several plays, like murder mysteries, comedy skits, like a talent show. You might even try begging local businesses to donate money for the trip. Hope i was helpful = )

Pampered Chef consultants do fundraisers. The products sell themselves, because they are such high quality. All you would have to do is have your students ask people to view the catalog and place orders. You might be able to find a consultant near you at www.pamperedchef.com
Good luck!

you could host a silent auction with donated items; car wash; ask local companies if they'd be willing to sponsor your group; how about getting the local church to help in exchange for some community service; sell baked goods

Sounds like a lot of fun...I travel with my university's French Dept each Spring Break...the kids are going to have a lot of fun...

I know Avon does fund-raisers. There have been a few in my area that have been very successful. You could always have a bake sale. There are companies out there where you can sell candy, Toblerone bars, etc. I had entertained the idea of selling calendars.

Last year, I had to raise money to go to Europe. I made about $500 selling suckers from the website www.ozarkdelight.com. All I did was sell suckers at my school and a bingo hall once a wee for $0.50 a piece.

Good luck! And have fun, Rome and Paris are wonderful cities.
