Weekend breaks in France?

Anywhere people recommend going for the weekend? I'm looking to just relax, do some shopping, hang out in a bar/pub/cafe - not looking for anything majorly tourist-ey or club-ey.

If anyone has any websites they recommend for looking up good - cheap - deals that would be really appreciate as well!

Large or small city, North or South, ...there are so many opportunities in France. Relax and shopping are not always compatible.

Just some suggestions: Etretat (North), Quiberon (West), Biaritz (South-West) or somewhere in Provence (South).

Have a look at Willgoto France. They have many links about France tourism:

Fly to Marseille-Provence and get the bus to Aix. Spend the weekend eating out, people-watching, looking at the cathedral, Cezanne's studio and the dozens of fountains. Don't do a package, fly with a budget airline and stay at a 2* hotel. Dead cheap.
