Large or small city, North or South, ...there are so many opportunities in France. Relax and shopping are not always compatible.
Just some suggestions: Etretat (North), Quiberon (West), Biaritz (South-West) or somewhere in Provence (South).

Fly to Marseille-Provence and get the bus to Aix. Spend the weekend eating out, people-watching, looking at the cathedral, Cezanne's studio and the dozens of fountains. Don't do a package, fly with a budget airline and stay at a 2* hotel. Dead cheap. |
