Aside from Paris and the obvious landmarks, there is much to see in the rest of France -

1. Le Mont St. Michel
2. Giverny - Claude Monet's house in Vernon
3. Chartres Cathedral
4. The Castles of the Loire Valley
5. St. Malo - historic walled city
5. Honfleur
5. The Cliffs of Etretat
6. Avignon
7. Ancient Roman arenas in Orange and southern France
8. Normandy beaches
9. Pont du Gard, Provence

Just to name a few - there are too many to list here.

Just come & see
About 2000 years of history gives some nice places to visit huh ? and not only in Paris ^^
A life will be a little short, just don't run while visiting "Le Louvre" or "Musee d'Orsay" in Paris, or having a stroll on "La Canebiere" in Marseille or "La promenade des Anglais" in Nice as I can see American tourists in Paris ;-)

Take your time first

eiffel tower, mont st michel, chartres cathedral, lascaux caves, roman arenas of nimes, carnac standing stones ...

This is a very broad question. You are talking about a country that is very old and that has played some some unique roles in history and continues to do so today. To attempt to give you a brief answer on yahoo answers simply would not do it justice. Read a book on the history of France.

Don't forget Sacre Coeur in Paris!

I second Mont St-Michel, btw.

Not sure what its called,or its significance, but there`s a statue in the hills above Annecy,in southern France, which shows an angel/saint ?? spearing the devil through the heart,as he lies on the floor, but the devil`s tail is curling round the angel`s back, ready to get his revenge..anyone know more ???

hanizee
il y a plusieurs lieu touristique en france, par example:
-le tour eiffel
-rue de champs-elysee

hanizee is wrong, Notre-Dame is not a chapel (a chapel is very very very very little) but a Cathedral.
there are all that and a lot of interesting museums in France.

Les arènes (Nîme)
The cathedrals of Paris, Amiens
The christmas market of Strassburg
The city of Deauville
The castles of the Loire
... etc

Such a hard question to answer France covers 547,030 square kilometres (211,209 sq mi), making it the largest country in area in the European Union and slightly larger than Spain. France possesses a wide variety of landscapes, from coastal plains in the north and west to mountain ranges of the Alps in the south-east, the Massif Central in the south-central and Pyrenees in the south-west. At 4,807 metres (15,770 ft) above sea-level, the highest point in Western Europe, Mont Blanc, is situated in the Alps on the border between France and Italy. France also has extensive river systems such as the Loire, the Garonne, the Seine and the Rhône, which divides the Massif Central from the Alps and flows into the Mediterranean sea at the Camargue.

Aside from the obvious monuments in Paris such as The Eiffel Tower, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Les Invalides, Sacré Coeur Basilica, Le Louvre, Le Trocadero, the 4 Arcs de Triomphe and many more things from roman times to avant garde modern...
Outside Paris you have hundreds of landmarks all over the country: Cathedrals, Châteaux, Fortresses, Monuments, etc....
For example all the Châteaux on the Loire Valley (such as Chambord, Blois, Amboise, Chennonceaux and several more).
Château de Fontainebleau.
Château de Versailles.
Mont Saint Michel in Brittany.
The 2 new bridges one in Normandie across the mouth of the Seine from Le Havre to Honfleur and the newest one a viaduct over the valley and village of Millau.
The Grottoes of Lascaux in Aquitaine with prehistoric art.
The Old Cathedral of Saint Jean and the Basilica of Fourvière both in Lyon.
The famous bridge in Avignon
La Bastille in Grenoble.
The monuments and cemetaries of the two World Wars in Normandy and Alsace-Lorraine.
These are just a few of the innumerable landmarks in a country that is filled with history and beauty...all worth visiting.
