The Loire Valley. Take a slow car (or bike ride if you are up to it) along this magnificent river from Orlean to the sea at Nantes. There are so many chateaux on the way and wonderful little towns. Don't rush it though. |

Hi there. I love Irancy in Burgundy. If you go there you will be able to taste wine. Visit the town Auxerre and have a meal at the Auberge de la Beursodiere (Nitry) .
I also love St Enimie in Lozere, an authentic village on the river Tarn with spectacular views and walks around.
I am French. these are my favourites! |

Any patisserie with clafoutis
Mountain of the Monkeys--just because it's so odd (it's on the east side but I don't remember more than that.) |

St Cirq Lapopie and Rocamadour are in a similar region around the Lot Valley/Quercy/ and another region I have forgotton...lovely area in general...we stayed near a town called Figiac, but its about an hour or 2 from Toulouse and definately worth a look...some other little towns worth looking at in the same area are Autoire...hmm something like something- le cere...but many towns have a medieval feel to them and are just lovely, like out of fairy tales.... |
