-You can visit the castles along the Loire river, it'sabout 2-3 hours from Paris, which has alot of history and culture.

-The French Alps near the Italy and Switzerland borders are great for hiking, skiing, camping, mountain biking, or swimming in the lakes.

-The French riviera which is the French Mediterranean coast is known for its beaches, scuba diving, windsurfing, great nightlife or just enjoying the summer.

-Aquitaine is the area in South-West france near the Spain border, it is also well known for its beaches, specifically for surfing, and the waves are the best (5-8 meters) in the fall.

-Bretagne which is in the North-west part of france, where it sort of branches off like a peninsula is well known for its old fishing villages and great sailing because there is alot of wind.

Personally, I think anywhere in France is absolutely amazing. 2 years ago I went on a WWI/WWII Battlefields Tour with my High School, and it was incredible.

Myself, I enjoy historical sites. If you plan on doing any Battlefield visitations, I would start in the Arromanches region, because its smack dab in the heart of Normandy, making it really good for commute between areas.
- Bayeux is a great place to check out.
- Versailles is a common attraction, but definitely worth checking out.
- Sainte-Mere-Eglise--once you get there, you'll be able to see why it's worth checking out.

Juan-les-Pins in southeastern France for the beach and nightlife.

Strasbourg has a beautiful historical centre - the Grande ÃŽle - which was the first city centre to be classified entirely as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
