Well, of course there is the Louvre (closed on Tuesdays) and the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triumph.
I would visit the Champs-Elysées, or other parks.
There is Montmartre, a wonderful area full of painters if you're one who enjoys local art, and then Notre Dame.

One of the more little know aspects of Paris is their sewers. That's right. Sewers. The famous Catacombs of Paris has a morbid past, but is truly something unique and fascinating. It's an entire underground labyrinth of human skeletons lining the walls, due to the fact Paris began running out of room for cemeteries way back then. There is much more to, and I recommend looking it up, unless you're the queasy type. A good venture for a rainy, or unpleasant day outside.

Now, it's nearly impossible to find any dinning on Sundays, so what I recommend is buying some food from a nice bakery or something and having a picnic in a nice area or park.
Museums are closed on Tuesdays and Monday depending.
If you want a hotel, the north side of the river is where you'll find the most sites, but the left side is a bit more practical price-wise.

I'd get some Euros in advance, in case we get in more changes in currency.

I hope you have a nice trip! ^-^

The Musée d'Orsay has some of the world's most recognizable impressionist paintings. The Louvre is much much bigger and has older objects in general. If you want to do a 2-3 hour museum blitz, d'Orsay is way better than the Louvre.

For a great night out:

Le Lido - It's a cabaret on the Champs Elysees

Fantastic with or without dinner (but not cheap)

The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Mont Martre, Versailles Palace (just outside of Paris), some castles outside of Paris, sidewalk cafes, Arch de Triomphe and Champs D'Elysee (pardon my spelling..) to name a few.

Chivalry is NOT dead :) <3
Here is a site that lists them : http://goparis.about.com/od/sightsattractions/tp/ParisTopTen.htm

I have never been there, but need to write a 4 page report on planning a trip there.

Since you are going, you might have an idea if this is a good deal- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjhpaI8CWVKA.w5LGolfsbXsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090315133841AAZUvNX

Must-see places in Paris are:
Paris Plage - Georges Pompidou Expressway
Notre Dame
Tuileries Garden
The Louvre
The Arc de Triomphe
Rue des Rosiers
Rue des Rosiers and Paris's Jewish Quarter
The Sorbonne and the Latin Quarter
Eiffel Tower
Sacre Coeur and Montmartre
Also try a Boat Tour of the Seine River. During summer you can have the city to yourself. Traffic nearly grinds to a halt on the streets. Stressed commuters have been replaced with cheerful vacationers. To add to the fun, free events like open-air cinema, live music, and beaches along the Seine river gives you the illusion that Paris is a resort town or amusement park. My last time in Paris was last summer, loving it. If you're looking for a hotel in Paris you can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com and to this page dedicated to Paris hotels in particular http://www.scoobit.com/hotel-paris.php I stayed at the first hotel on the right. It was a clean, well located and nicely staffed hotel. Safe site. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. Have a great time in Paris.
