What clothes should I wear in FRANCE in APRIL?

I'm going to Paris in mid-April - what's the weather like? Would jeans be appropriate, or will it be hot enough for shorts?

Well, never wear a short in a city, that's for the beach.
In some places in Paris a jeans is indeed appropriate, if you walk at the champs-Elysees, avenue George V, going to fashion shows, dine in class restaurant, best wear comfortable(not jeans) in those places and men sometimes a tie (in some restaurants.
Jeans can if you visit museums and parks, flea markets, antique shops or if you just dine in a fastfood.

Spring is the time to visit Paris. Jeans are fine, but it won't be hot enough for shorts until June. You may consider long pants, jumpers, a spring coat (or a trench) and cotton scarves. If you're looking for a hotel in Paris you can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com and to this page dedicated to Paris hotels in particular http://www.scoobit.com/hotel-paris.php I stayed at the first hotel on the right. It was a clean, well located and nicely staffed hotel. Safe site. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. Have a great time in Paris. Hugs.

Jeans are fine because it will still be a little cold in April. We're nearing end of March now and it's still cold here but often sunny. I still need long pants, jumper and even a coat, sometimes still even a scarf. In any case you definitely won't need shorts until around June or July. Pack for the cold but take your sunglasses and a few tee shirts, and forget the sandals. Hope you enjoy your holiday here in fabulous France.

i am french and i tell you no shorts it will look strange in april . Better jeans, cotton trousers jackets full arms t shirts lights pullovers and a warmer one .shoes it can rain there is a French saying: "en Avril ne te decouvre pas d'un fil" .
It means in April ,beware, it can be still cold, do not put too light clothes on.maybe a light raincoat and sunglasses in case of sun .

gib
Jeans are okay but I'd hold up on the shorts. It's kinda like medium-winter there.
