What do French citizens think of global warming?

How does it affect them and their everyday life?

In France these last years we have been hammered with the global warming facts, until it was well understood that it was a danger and it was coming soon, and the government and local authorities are now passing laws to start working on it. Recycling, solar panels... You hear about that regularly on the news now, as well as the explanation that it is going to cost money. So far the French have buckled up. What helps is the very good public transport system in place in the big cities, which allows people to accept switching from car to bus when possible... or bike. The new automatic rent-a-bike in Paris is a huge success. It has entered everyday life, and everyone understands that to be Green is good and that there is a price to pay, be it for less polluting cars, or better rubbish treatment. The weather helps remind us of it too, with either heat waves in summer or two months of unending rain in summer...

The bad side of it is... it is slow. Triage of house rubbish in different bins for example is not universal, over heating is still common in big residential buildings... And the Green Party has its head stuck in a dark place. Instead of working to make the transition as easy as possible it is going after narrow minded goals. Like less cars, but not thinking about creating more public transport for those ex-drivers. Half a solution can be worse sometimes than no solution, and the pollution has increased in Paris for example due to deliberately created traffic jams to push people to leave their cars.
Yet, on the whole, there's profound changes going on.

70% of the french electricity are producted by Nuclear central, so France is one of countries which poluates the less our air.

Same as the left wing of the US democratic party.

French all smoke so they are the biggest deniars of global warming or else they would have to blame themselves for polluting the air
