What do i need to emigrate to France?

The plan is to move to Europe when i finish my engineering degree hopefully france. I'm currently studying Engineering and Science with a Diploma in Language(French).

What are the chances of me actually getting a long term visa? Would be better to go in as a scientist and switch or and engineer straight out?

I currently hold an Australian Passport.

Cheers

Luck and courage!

it is not easy for non-european workers to emigrate in our beautiful country...

Ask the French Embassy if you can apply for a working holiday visa, it is probably the best way to begin here.

That depends on what you plan on doing for a living.

If you're an entrepreneur with a business plan and capital then no problems.

But if you're looking to find employment when you get there then its going to be very difficult.

The best thing would be to go as a student. If you get your degree in France then its relatively easier to apply for citizenship.

Next best is to look for an Australian company with a presence in France and get a job with them. They can smooth the way to getting a long stay visa and work permit.

You can apply for a student visa which will allow you to stay there until you're done.

Unless you hold a EU passport, you have virtually no chance of getting a job in France, let alone move there.

About the only way to do it is to work with in a company with overseas branches, get some work experience with them, and try to get a transfer to the French branch.
