Nope, there's no actual dress code for public holidays in France, people wear whatever they like really :) I do remember that for the bicentennial of the French Revolution (Bastille Day 1989) a lot of kids in school wore costumes and stuff but that's pretty much it.

Ho ho ! Of course we do wear our national costumes in all the different regions in France on special occasions and they happen very often throughout the year!

There is no "national dress" in France.

Which makes sense. After all, national dress in most countries is what they wear when they are not wearing clothes designed by the French.

we don't wear special dress for any occasion, it's up to you to be casual or chic !
The most important is for you to be really comfortable and feel free !

And it's true that a lot of French men doesn't wear underwear under their jeans pants and I think it's very sexy
