What do you think about French students ?

I'm assuming you refer to students who are French, rather than students OF French? I admire their discipline very much. French society as a whole places a much higher value on being well-educated than American society does. You're admired rather than disdained for being able to sustain an intelligent conversation on a wide variety of subjects. What a concept!

That said...I sat in on a few university classes in Strasbourg with a friend who was studying there at the time. (They were regular French university classes, not special ones for foreign students.) I was not entirely impressed. At U.S. universities, students are encouraged to form their own opinions and float their own ideas, however half-baked they might be. I think this helps develop a student's ability to think critically. If the classes I audited in Strasbourg are anything to judge by, the aim is to get the student to regurgitate the text and/or the professor's own opinion as accurately as possible. There was little or no opportunity to interact with the professor. To present your own opinion in class or in a paper is to invite ridicule. That's not your job as a student.

The sense of discipline has its own rewards, but on balance, I'm not sure French university education is superior to American university education. I'll be interested to see what others have to say.

The ones that come to Worcester are obsessed with MacDonalds. They had to close it once because there were so many in there and then they were blocking the pavement outside.
They're very noisy on public transport and run around making a nuisance of themselves. I'd prefer it if they stayed home.

the english language is one of the hardest in the world to learn. I admire them for trying to learn a language that is not only difficult but is extremly hard due to local dialects and slang that must be very very hard to comprehend. Full marks for trying .
