Cool man

What do you think of the new TGV record ?

A nice refinement of conventional rail technology which however seems to make clear the that this is a technological "end of the line." Magnetic levitation is the future of rail travel.

Impressive as always from the TGV. Well it shows that French technology is good. Fortunately the trains with passengers will only travel at around 300km per hour.

David
I think it's further evidence that taking the TGV has arguably become a better option for traveling within France than flying. (The latter is of course faster, but considering how much time travelers tend to lose in airports, and the fact that airports are typically located 20-30 minutes minimum from downtown areas, any time saved by flying has become negligible, IMHO.) 500+ km/hr is of course not a typical cruising speed by any means, but it's an impressive feat regardless.

Impressive, but I read that the ride got a bit juddery so I don't know whether I'd like traveling at such speed.

blah de blah de blah...
It is fantastic. Now if the SNCF could just get a website that is actually intelligible and that you could book tickets on it then they would rule the world!
