France in one of the most beautiful places in the world .
Because of its geographical location it has a balanced climate, cooler in the North and warm in the South. It has everything: lovely mountains, varied coast lines, large forests, sweeping plains, rivers that range from wild streams to stately stretches of water that are navigable. There are fields of flowers a varied agriculture and not a parcel of land that is not cared for. You can enjoy every kind of sport from skiing and sky diving to rowing cycling.
The country has such a long history that you are able to see prehistoric cave dwellings and paintings, Roman monuments still standing, medieval fortresses, magnificent Gothic cathedrals, Renaissance castles and 17th century palaces inspired all the monarchs of other kingdoms, and daring modern architecture.
Everywhere you go there is something of interest, be it museums, art galleries, monuments, outdoor sculptures, artifacts, flower displays etc..Shops are interesting an sell goods that are original and well displayed.Even in the poorest areas manage to be picturesque.
The food is varied and interesting ranging from traditional recipies to modern cooking with an intercontinental twist.
The infrastructure is remarkable. Beautiful and never boring motorways that have been well designed and constructed, first class rail network with trains that are immaculate, fast and run on time. Amazing bridges like the Viaduc de Millau which is the highest in the world.

Despite what some ignorant people say about the French, namely that they are rude and proud because they atre not loud and effusive, this is untrue. They are simply reserved on first contacts , but once the ice is broken they will walk the extra mile for others. Once they are your friends this remains constant and they do not drop you when they tire of you or cannot be bothered. In fact they are extremely polite and greetings are expected when tou enter a shop or leave it. Their hospitality industry is second to none.
People who take the time to visit France at leisure, rather than doing whisthle stop tours of the main sites ticking a five day "been there seen that" list, get to know its qualities and return again and again, simply because when you fall in love with France it is there tantalising you to go back because it is such a fantastic place and one can never get enough of it.

the culture, the food, the atmosphere. The climate is mediterranean in some parts, but in places like Paris it's as cold as Northern Europe
