What is a good daytrip from Paris - rail or air?

We are traveling to Paris soon and would like to add an economical, but interesting trip, inside or outside France, possibly high speed rail or air

How many days and nights? Do you want to relax or do you want to absorb some culture?

A couple of ideas for you.

Amboise (see the Chateau and Leonardo Da Vinci's home)
Brussels and continue onto Bruges
Amsterdam
Versailles (Palace of Versailles)
Fontainbleu
Geneva

If you haven't been to London, you can take the Eurostar to London for a day or two.

Rail is so quick and easy over there that I would definitely recommend the train. It not only allows you to see the countryside - but it can be quite relaxing and fun! Check out www.raileurope.com

Pastor Dave
I would recommend Normandy (2 hours to the NW) with it's beaches, D-Day Memorials, and scenic architecture, or . . . The Châteaux of the Loire River Valley (2-3 hours to the SW).

Definitely take a train or rent a car. Flying and renting a car always takes a half a day, so if you do a round trip in one day, you won't have much time to see anything.

train
if you’re in the mood for a scenic rail day trip

Go for train travel: you can get to Brussels in an hour and a half, right in the centre. Or why not London? It takes less than 3 hours, you get to take the Chunnel, and again, you're right in the centre.
For France, Pastor Dave's recommendations are great and informed, as usual: Normandy is lovely, as is the Loire region. But staying with the train theme, you can get to Avignon in about 3 hours, and get a taste of Provence - or as the Rough Guide puts it: 'spectacular monuments and museums, ...and more places to eat and drink than you could cover in a month'.

I would say go on rail because if you want to see many intersting things go on rail. thats just my suggetion.

Air cause they will have tvs on the plane and I don't thinkk you can get to Paris on a train

Lexy
The Paris metro or trains, is the best way to travel. They can take you all over France and you can see the sights on the way. Besides trains are cheaper and it takes 1/2 a day to travel from border to border. Why fly?

By train definitely !
u can find very cheap train ticket on the internet website : http://www.voyages-sncf.com/. U can have the website in english if u click the british flag at the bottom.
For example : id TGV Paris-Bordeaux or Marseille 3 hours journey 19€ or 25€ !!! But only available on internet and need to pay with a credit card.
