The weather and the food are better than in the UK. The people are more reserved than in the USA and not quite so friendly as the Dutch and the Italians. They're less passionate and more analytical than the Spanish. They're burdened by government regulation but less likely than Germans to meekly obey amd more humanistic.
They make better wine than almost anyone. Their health care system is the most intelligently put together and they're some of the healthiest people around despite a diet of extraordinarily calorie laden food.
They're less entrepreneurial than Americans and Brits but superb craftsmen when they want to be. They work a 35 hour week and take long vacations but are still some of the most productive workers anywhere.

Hi Avery, I live in the UK and often visit France for a holiday. It is the most wonderful country you could hope to visit. It is infact the most visited holiday destination in the world. If you step away from the big cities you almost enter another time zone to one where people are polite and interesting and have time to get to know you. The towns and villages of central and southern France are timeless. You can visit places that have barely changed in centuries yet minutes away modern cities with the worlds best (and fastest) rail networks. The Alps are unreal in their beauty, take a look on the internet at the stunning alpine town of Annecy to see what i mean but what really makes France so special is the unique atmosphere you get when you are there. You can sense the history and diversity everywhere you go without it feeling fake. The French have had to put up with a bad press from British and Americans but that seems to be from people who have never set foot in the country. I have never heard a bad word said about France from anyone who has actualy been there. It really is a fantastic place but dont take my word for it go and see for yourself. In my opinion the further south you go the better it gets.

France is incredible. It's like being in a different world when you go there. Paris is excellent for all of the tourist stuff you always hear about, but going to provence, Normandy, Brittany , any of those regions are so beautiful it's like a fairytale
.
It depends on what city you are. People in Paris are quite a snob and a little pity. People outside of Paris, in about 7 province away - are more intelligent people, understanding and passionate. There are a lot of cheese stores around the town and most places are peaceful and less crime.
