What is life like in Paris, France?

Wonderful.

Seriously tho, its a city with many charms and advantages but with its drawbacks too.

The standard of cuisine is very high, there is an abundance of culture, there are many great music venues, convivial bars and cafes are on almost every block, the transportation system is well thought out and efficient, the health care system is excellant and violent street crime is almost non-existent.

It is however, an expensive city to live in, traffic is horrendus, parking is all but impossible, unemployment is high, taxes are ruinous, government regulation is pervasive and the government bureacracy is pettifogging, obnoxious and arrogant.

Rillifane is correct, as always, but I would highly recommend it to a young, single person. Some of the best times of my life were spent in Paris!

all of the above.
If you're planning to live there, I would very much advise looking in the suburbs (the nice ones, west or south of the city, generally). You don't have to go very far out to find beautiful forests and gardens which are an essential part of a balanced life in this city. Living within requires regular sorties to the countryside, and i for one, was unable to do so.
Strike a balance between city (the densest in Western Europe) and country, and you'll truly want to stay forever

Why would life be any different than where you are now. If you were asking 'what is life like in Bagdad or Rangoon', OK, it must be quiter different. But do you really think life in any given occidental city differs from life in any other occidental city?
Life in Paris is exactly like life in London, Madrid, Rome, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Toronto or whatever. It's just plain boring life: wake up, drink coffee, get in the subway, work, supermarket, get home, watch TV, sleep. Just like anywhere else.
