I went all the way to the top when I was there. It was fantastic, one of the highlights of the trip. While we were waiting in line, a thunderstorm rolled through with torential down pours. When we go to the top it had finally stopped raining but there was thunder and lightening still and to see lightening from that far up was amazing. If you can get to the top, go to the top.

I liked both the second and the third floor. On the third floor the panorama of Paris is just breathtaking but on the second floor you can see everything in more detail. Anyway, if you are there anyway, why not visit all the floors? You can take the stairs if you want to avoid waiting in long queues for a lift or take one of the lifts if you don't like going up and down the stairs.
Have a good time in Paris!

It is harder to get access all the way to the highest level but it is definitely worth it. Absolutely one of them most unreal views in the world. Also, the highest level is the least crowded of the three. the second has a McDonald's on it :( Enjoy your trip and make sure you visit the Palace of Versailles and the Napoleon's quarters in the Louvre. You know, if you go to the top you get to see levels 1 & 2 as well!

I would go to the top, but if you want an even better view (which includes the Eiffel Tower), I would go up the Tour Montparnasse, which is taller and less crowded. Or, if you want, do both :).

when i went, i was able to go to the 2nd level only. the top level was closed due to high winds. I would have loved to go to the top, however from the 2nd level it was still a marvelous sight.
