I would recommend Le Tour d'Argent, 15-17 quai de la Tournelle, in the Cinquième Arrondissement. It has an excellent rating from the Michelin Guide, a beautiful view of the Sienne and la cathédral de Notre Dame. You can even make reservations online.
The online restaurant reviews give it high marks for food and service. |

Le Chartier! It's quite an institution, everyone seems to know it. Can't remember where it is, but it's down some little alley somewhere. It's basically very old-fashioned, very traditional, and very cheap. |

Its always a bit difficult to know what people mean when they ask questions like this because words and phrases like "fair priced" are so subjective.
In a sense, a place like Le Grand Véfour, a three star temple of gastronomy at 17, rue du Beaujolais in the 1st arr., is "fair priced" because the 75€ prix fix at lunch or even the 250€ dinner fairly represents the enormous costs of producing ethereal dishes like Lobster with bergamot-mint emulsion.
On the other hand I'm too much the tightwad to spend that kind of money unless I can write if off on my expense account.
So perhaps Allard at 41, rue Saint-André-des-Arts (6th arr but actually on the boundry between 5th and 6th), a classic Left Bank bistro is a better suggestion.
Its a quick walk from either the Odeon or St. Michel Metro stops. There's a nice 23€ prix fix lunch. The food and atmosphere are both traditionally French. The area is lively and a pleasant one to walk around to work off the calories after lunch. You might want to call to reserve if you decide to eat here. The telephone is 01 43 26 48 23. |

I would recommend "La Coupole" in the 14th Arrondissement. Great atmosphere, great food, fair priced.
