Dan

What is the best time to go to Paris, France? We're thinking to go on July 21-30, but tickets are outrageous!

My personal opinion is that the best time is in the fall, specifically the last weeks of September and the first weeks of October.

The weather is pleasant, the tourist hordes who inundate Paris during the summer are gone, Parisians have settled back in after returning from their August exodus. airfares become quite reasonable and hotels often reduce their rates.

You should also know that Spring which is mentioned by several other people is very damp. April has an average of 17 rainy days out of 30 and May has 16 rainy days out of 31.

In the Springtime is best - in April and May. Try to avoid the Easter holidays because the kids are on holiday for over 2 weeks.

Yes, avoid Paris in July or August. In my humble opinion the best time is mid-September to October (and really November is not that bad). It's not horribly hot and sticky and there are no tourists around. Then there's always very early spring.

go in the spring or fall. it is very hot there in the summer and during august many places are closed.

I went during my spring break, and it was amazing! Don't go in the summer -- it's too hot to enjoy anthing that's not inside.

During the spring there's mild weather, and during my 4 day stay I was able to enjoy 4 days of sun. Tickets were not bad at all, and spring, though it is a little crowded, is nothing compared Rome or New York.

I went in April, and it was wonderful, the sun was out every day and it didn't rain at all.

The end of July and August are the peak season and very hot. You are better going in May or September

It's better in May beginning preferably before students are out of Universities for the semester (other students are still in school) AND when Europeans are not having summer vacations. June becomes too touristy, if you want a good feel for the city without compromising too much on weather the middle to end of may is great. You should also try to visit the countryside with renting a car - an incredible adventure for sure!
