No luck, they are all the same prices in all the tobacco selling places. If you are offered cheaper ones in the street they are contraband, and most of the time bad copies of the brands. Instead of the brand you think you're buying you'll get cheap bad tobacco.
You buy them usually in cafes with a tobacco stand, there's not machines in France. You will recognise the place by its sign, a red lozenge like this one, with or without the word tabac http://www.hku.hk/french/starters/icones/tabac.jpg

You can also buy them at the counter in some restaurants, night clubs, cafes, but the price is even steeper.

Cigarette prices in France are government regulated. There is no "cheapest" place to buy them.

confucious says
I will second the first answer every shop are the same price and the price of bensons are approx £34 for two hundred

and you cannot buy duty free unless you are travelling out of the EU DUTY FREE WAS ABOLISHED IN THE EU in 1999

edit dont ake any notice of redit the ones you buy in the back streets are counterfeit and illegal to buy and even worse they taste terrible and if you intend to return to the UK WITH THEM IF YOU GET STOPPED BY THE CUSTOMS THEY WILL CONFISCATE THEM

redi
Listen,

don't listen to those answers. You can find cheaper cigarettes in france but it would be in special places like city market. There you'll have lot of people who offer you cheaper ciggaretes. If you go in pARis go to Barbes and you'll have the choice. You just have to know that is not allowed in France but most people do that because of the increasingly price of it product.

So, it's definetely not in a store that you'll find cheaper ciggys but in the street in popular neighborhoods.

kobayashi
The price of cigarettes is the same everywhere in France. The price is decided nationally.

However, I think that in Duty free shop (at the airport) they are cheaper.
