What is the most beautiful section of France: Loire Valley, Provence, Britanny and Normandy, Bourgogne etc?

My personal opinion is that Paris is the most beautiful section of France.

Scenery is scenery and, frankly, having traveled the world, it all looks pretty much the same. Cities are the glory of the world not cow pastures and mountains.

I can drop you in any one of a million rural fields and you wouldn't have a clue as to where you were. If I dropped you in Paris you'd scan the area, see the Eiffel Tower, and know exactly where you were.

If only god can make a tree then its also true that only the genius of man can build the Eiffel Tower.

Well all the areas of France are breathtaking, each in their own individual ways. Loire Valley is lush and beautiful with plenty of chateaus and lots of historical happenings. Provence has lots of lavendar and nice scenary(just beware of the le mistral winds), Brittany, aka Bretagne, is chock-full of ancient history and celtic heritage with a rocky and windy beach setting. Normandy, of course, the beach of D-Day. and well, if you love pine trees and skiing, go to Chamonix or Geneve Switzerland. I happen to adore Paris and its magical Versailles palace and lots of tourist attractions. Au revoir mes amis!

I think Provence is the best, because I love mediteranean scenery. But I agree another answer: France is beautiful, everywhere.

Provence is the best especially in June and September, before the tourist invasion which makes it impossible to drive around. Lavender is only visible in late July early August as the harvest happens in August and it doesn't bloom fully before mid July. It smells delicious in the air and you hear the cicadas and enjoy the sunshine and the cool breeze making it tolerable in the shade when reaching its zenith . The landscape is amazing, especially by the Verdon canyon surrounded by the perched villages and the Lac de Ste Croix. Gorgeous. My favourite little village in the area is Moustier Ste Marie, love to walk in the center and shop for faience and ceramics.
I was born in Normandy, studied in Brittany (Rennes) and Paris, love burgundy wines, I am fascinated by the opulence of the Loire Valley, and its dessert wines (Coteaux du Layon being my favorite of all) and now I am here in the US, but if I had to choose where to settle, it would be Provence.
