Sorry to answer a different question here... You asked elsewhere (now closed to new answers) about what to know when doing business in France. There are two excellent books named "French or Foe?" and "Savoir Flair" by Polly Platt. She is an American who has lived in Paris for many years. She teaches North American business people about the differences in the way businesses operate and in the cultures. I read them before vacationing in France and learned a lot -- by reading her books I was aware of things from the neutral French facial expression (i.e. don't smile for no reason!) to keeping my hands ON the table during a meal.
