it can be anywhere in both cities. so it doesnt need to be anywhere specific in Italy or Nice Additional Details and look, you are just another stuck up european. my apologies for saying "cities" I was in a hurry, so let me rephrase the question for you. do you know the quickest city roads to get from Nice, France, a city, to Italy, a country?

You can take a train from Nice to Ventimiglia which is an hour long journey. The train makes 3 - 5 stops. I dont remember all of them, but the last 2 stops are Monte Carlo, then Menton (last town in France) and then Ventimiglia which is the Italian town on the Italy-France border. I did not spend anytime there and cannot tell you if it has any touristy activities. I would recommend changing trains at Ventimiglia and going on to at least Genoa which is another hour, maybe 90 minutes further down on the Italian coast and it is a nice city to spend a day. |

The quickest road route from Nice to Italy is the A8 autoroute. Head north out of Nice to hit the A8 which runs through the northern suburbs, and then head east until you reach Italy approximately 15 miles away.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=nice,+france&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=51.841773,113.90625&ie=UTF8&ll=43.756217,7.371826&spn=0.18648,0.444946&z=12
If you prefer scenery, there are three coast roads heading east out of Nice, one near sea-level, one at the top of the hill, and one in-between. |

Italy is not a city. It's a country. It's quite big. Your assertion that it doesn't need to be anywhere in particular in Italy is totally wrong. Using my powers of extra-sensory perception, let me try and guess the nationality of someone who is so woefully ignorant of even the basics of European geography..............wait, the mists are clearing................yes, you are undoubtedly a citizen of the United States of America. |
