What is there in the 16eme?

I just found out that I will be living in the 16eme. Somewhere near Avenue Foch. What is good around there? I'm 26. Also, does anyone know where to get good West African food/markets?? Thanks!

The 16th, on the Right Bank and in thewqest end of the city is a very nice, generally high end, residential area. You will be close to the Arc de Triomphe and the Palais de Chaillot, the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower.

Walk east on the avenue Foch to the Arc de Triomphe and you'll be at the west end of the Champs elysee. Walk west on avenue Foch and you'll come to the Bois de Boulogne, a large park (best avoided by night but a lovely place by day).

I went off season to the 16th eme. Everything was closed and it was a major disappointment. I almost got ripped off by some people wanting me to buy a Louis Vitton bag for them. It looked too suspicious, so I handed them their money back (700Euros, yikes!).

possibly
lots of rich people !

The best part about the 16eme is that you will be near metro lines that will take you to all those beautiful sites that you want to see.
Make sure you go to Chatelet les halles and visit the sites around there. Notre Dame isn't far! In this area you'll have some Marche D'africain, but your best bet for the biggest one is in St. Ouen (your a bit of a ways from there) You can by plantains and all those delicious spices along with that BBQ Chicken from Conga and Camouroon. Bonne Chance et Bon Voyage!

It is considered the chicest arrondismont and the most expensive. West African markets will be on the other side of the Seinne, you will not have any problem finding one, there are quite a few.

16 arrondissement it's the best in Paris darling.
Enjoy it.

i have heard that on the "Avenue Foch" sides , there are girls waiting for men , in a car.

if you go across "place de l'Etoile" you'll arrive in the "8eme arrondissement" on the "Avenue des champs-Elysées" with many stores and cinemas . anyway if you use metro you can go anywhere in Paris . "Le louvre" museum on the line 1 ,quite rapidly from "Etoile" .

if you want to find Africa in Paris just use the "line 2" (from Etoile direction Nation) and choose station "Barbes-Rochechouart" , then you might ask black people from africa where you might find african food .

there r embasses and lot of wealthy people in general. Its close to the popular palce called Challes de Gaulle, where there is french biggest avenue de CHAMPSELYSES. Well it is also close many more important places in France. West Africa food is most found in Arrondissement or district 19 and 18 or 20. Get a subway 4 and ask for station Chatou Rouge. It is west AFrica there!!!!!

Umm, just about everything is in or near the 16eme. And you will more likely find west african markets on the rive gauche.
