In one sense its very easy to answer your question. Paris has some of the best hotels in the world. The Crillon, the Ritz, the Plaza Athénée, and the George V, among others, are world famous for their standards and level of service.

On the other hand, you're not likely to get a room at any of these places for less than $600 a night. The corporate rack rate, for example, at the Plaza Athénée is 510Є for a single which is about US$650. The Presdiential suite will cost you over $5800 a night.

If cost is of no concern then go for it but frankly, even tho I can, in fact, afford these sort of prices (well maybe not the Presidential suite) I just don't see the point. Paris is such a wonderful city that I spend very, very little time in my hotel room while there. Why pay a premium price for something you're not going to use very much.

If you decide, against all reason, to spend a lot of money then I suggest the Plaza Athénée. Here is their website:

Hi,, personally I stay at the Ritz,, but not everyone can do this,, there is a real nice Best Wester Hotel,,, off the Champs Elyesse,, on the right of the Arc de Triumph... that is more of what you are looking for...

good luck

I actually thought that renting an apartment was most fun...last time I went we had a tiny flat on the island next to the island with the Notre Dame on it...it was the most beautiful part of the city in my opinion.
