Depends what u like and what to expect from a voyage.
Paris is a must see definitely. Rich in culture, architecture, tradition and it's very nice specially in spring.
La campagne française is also beautiful to see, all the vineyard and green areas to the south (between chartres and biarritz all the way down in car is a good scenario).
Then u've got the all famous Cote d'Azur to the southeast end of france: Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes and St Tropez. This place is just fantastic. You can't miss it if ur going to france. Best time to go: definitely between mid may and September. Around may 18th is the Cannes Film Festival, u get to see artists, special shows, theres a huge screen next to the beach where u can see films and it's loaded with tourists. Apart from this season Cannes is a very calm place (but still very classy and expensive compared to other french cities)
Monte Carlo and Nice are just nearby. Testing ur luck in MonteCarlo's casino at the main plaza will be a very satisfying experience (considering you dont loose it all of course!!) Then St Tropez is another good place to visit. In summer celebrities use to go to their holiday houses so u might b lucky to see some known faces.
Oh yea and for the more natural there's Cap d'Adge, a nudist beach.
There are other cities that are rich in culture of course. A one day visit to Carcasonne (a medieval city surrounded by a huge wall) would b great also. Uve got other options more to the north like Strasbourg, Rennes, Normandie (D Day memorials), etc.
So overall uve got plenty to choose from depending on what u expect from a holiday. |

I visited Paris last summer and my favorite place was the Sacre Coeur Cathedral. Everyone thinks about going to Notre Dame, and granted it was very beautiful, the Sacre Coeur was spectacular. I also would suggest going to the Opera Garnier also called the Paris Opera House. I was not able to go on a guided tour because there was a rehearsal in the theater, but just the architecture of the building inside and outside was specatular. Paris is the most beautiful city I have ever been in. I had a great experience there and would suggest everyone to at least make 1 trip there. I plan to make many more! |

Hi there, you'll probably get a ton of answers for this great question :)
My recommendation is Paris, called the City of Lights, with the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees, and so many other fantastic things to see and do.
I love Paris!
If you're visiting there, have a great time!

Hi
To be quite honest France is not really a "cool" place anywhere. When my fiance and I went (he had set it up to romantically propose to me) everywhere we went smelled like feces as they get in the river and do their bathroom business there, the raw sewage runs into the river also, the natives there were extremely rude and had an open dislike for Americans. It was a true bummer of a trip, our romance totally ruined by the attitudes and the stench!
Don't waste your time or money in that country - go somewhere they appreciate American patronage!! |
