i agree with the first answer, however don't rule out the ambiance of Buddha Bar. It is see and be seen there.

The night life in Paris is definitely good and the liveliest and most diverse of all French cities although not necessarily the best in terms of atmosphere IMHO (people there tend to care more about looking good and cool than about really having a good time. In Toulouse and Rennes for instance people really know how to have fun in a more genuine way). Also clubbing in Paris is expensive because of the price of drinks at night.
That being said, there are all kinds of clubs and you'll definitely be able to find "the best" for you. As others said it depends on your tastes but here are the main nightclubs in Paris: click on each picture and you will get a description of the place in French and a link to their website. Some night clubs are not specialized in any type of music and will have something different every night so choose the day you go too: http://www.tribudenuit.com/club-discotheque.php
There are also a lot of smaller places and bars with live music everywhere in Paris, especially in the 1st (les Halles), 5th & 6th arrondissements and in the 11th around Bastille. For those there is usually no cover. |

Rilifan has a point - sexual orientation is a big factor in this gay-friendly city.
L'Etoile is way up there, as is VIP Room, both off the Champs Elysees. You could try ManRay and Buddha Bar for a booked diner and then partying, which is usually the easiest way to get in.
I have never actually tried to get in to any of the above bar one, but if you do, be prepared to unload a pile of cash. |
