You will communicate by learning French. Buy a beginners' book on French and read it before you go, also take it with you.

How are you going to communicate? Isn't that what you are going to learn.?

old know all
First don't panic. If you know some basic French you'll soon be able to work out what's going on. Immersion is the best way to learn a language when you're young. Just don't worry that you'll say something wrong. They know you don't speak much French - that's why you're going. Once your French is good enough for it to matter, they will correct you.
