Do not worry, you can wear the same clothes day AND night, you know. I think that in Paris, the weather is quite sunny and hot, like in the US, but bring a waistcoat with you, though, you never know! And do not think that you will look like an idiot, each person has a different style, and nobody is dressed exactly the same way! French people mustn't be so strange, fashion is universal, and, after all, Paris is the capital of fashion, isn't it? And don't forget that you will be there to relax, it's summer, the holidays!!! Oh, and, have a nice trip!

Follow Marilin Monroe's advice.

When asked what she wore in bed she answered "Channel".

You don't need much more in Paris. But if you do, fashion is fairly universal so wear the same you would at home unless home is the USA in which case pretend it is one level more posh, and wear that.

Whatever you wear, you need to have a thong on under your pants. All gals in Paris wear thongs.

Kate.
capris are extremely popular in france, especially in paris! also, wearing layered ruffle skirts (they were popular in USA a few years ago) over jeans is popular, too!
not sure about what to wear at night, though!
(wear good walking shoes, if you go sightseeing, you'll face endless stairs! it sux!)

First and foremost, you need to have comfortable shoes. Paris is no fun if you're walking on a bed of blisters.

I've never been to Paris in the summer, but I read somewhere that Parisians do not wear shorts. I've seen them wear jeans, so you'd be fine if that's what you want to bring. Skirts or skorts may be more comfortable in the summer.

Check out the Europe Through The Back Door web site below...there's the Graffiti Wall where other travelers post questions and answers...it's been quite helpful to me.

Paris is a very tendy fashion city. First day there, walk outside and look around to see what the women are wearing this year and what are the popular colors. Last year, the popular color was light green, this year, not sure what the fashion trend is but just look around and you'll notice it. The Parisians women are very fashion trendy.
