Well if you love art work then you should definitely go to the Louvre- absolutely AMAZING! And if you love ice cream, go to the Berthillon, which is on the Ile St.-Louis. It's a very popular shop and the ice cream is the best you will ever have- in the most beautiful city too! For the hotel I would recommend the Edouard VI hotel. It was a great price and the people there were very nice and helpful. They even offer breakfast in the basement (so cute) every morning, which was really good. I loved it there!
Here are some must go to places:
Notre Dame
Louvre
Eiffel Tower (i recommend you buy a baguette and eat it on the park benches below the tower, so cool)
Sacre Coeur
Jardin des Tuileries
Arc de Triomphe (if you can, climb to the very top, you'll get amazing views and see the eiffel tower in the distance)
and take a ride on a bateau mouche (boats that cruise the river) if affordable
also, just walk around the city, any neighborhood, and sit outside at a little cafe for a while, it's fun just soaking in the city scenes

Oh, and to make this all a little more affordable, get a city pass, this one pass will get you into many museums and some monuments. And get a metro pass for the amount of days you will be there, cheaper than buying a new one every day.

Have a great trip, you'll love it!

well i stayed at an apartment for about a week and a half. found at
http://www.parisattitude.com/ and you want to stay in 1-7 arrondissement or area.
as far as hotels go they are more expensive but wit an apartment you have more planning. http://www.hotelvictoiresopera.com/ is a good hotel located near the opera. very good place, i stayed there. connects easily to all parts of paris. you need to see
Luxembourg gardens
Champs elseeys: walk down the street: disney store, luxury micky d's along w/ beautiful surroundings.
eiffel tower: though the lines are huge. my family decided not to go up but to enjoy from below. mistake? i dunno. still beautiful.
Arc de Triomphe: they have a beautiful display inside and the view is gorgeous. the carving beautiful the steps narrow.
Sacre-Coeur: don't go during evening. thinking your beating crowds. no! and signs say not to be on the grass but tons of peeps drink and get drunk, not enough police. plz don't go in the evening or at night.
take a taxi to drive you through the royal palace
moma: art museum goo restaurant as well
Saint Louis Island: best ice cream store in all of paris with 50 different flavors. pylones - creative artsy store. bought like 10 items many cool unique shops. i could live there
nice walk too.
okay so that was kinda long but after my trip last summer i'm considering living there. possibilty. wonderful. superb. not enough words. hope i helped. HAVE FUN!

Wonder.
You could stay in hostels to save the most money there. Then, either roam the city and find out the fun stuff for yourself or see what's cheap by reading a Paris travel guide. I'm going to Paris next summer to study abroad, so I've been reading Frommer's Paris 2009. They have everything from restaurants to museums, and they let you know what's cheap or even free. If you love eating outside, go to a market (listed in Frommer's), pick up some bread, fruit and cheese, and go have a picnic!

i would go shopping or eat at fancy resturant.

I lived in France last year as a student!! That is a seriously limited budget. Anytime we stayed in Paris we stayed in a hotel called Formule 1. This is a very cheap chain of hotels all over France. In Paris, there's at least 3. It cost €39 in total for a room that slept 3 people! Ok, you get what you pay for BUT they are spotlessly clean, extremely safe, better than hostels, you do have your own room with tv and wash basin but you have to share toilets/showers. They are all situated centrally and close to metro lines.

Most museums in France have a free visit day, I think it only happens once a month, it's something like the first wednesday of every month, not too sure on exact details, try to look into that to save you money!

Most cafes/restaurants around the Notre Dame area are cheap but serve great food. Picnicking is a great way to save!

I would have to advise you to go on the Batons Mouchees at night time, it's €10 but well well worth it. I do it every time I'm in Paris!

Do not fall for any of the many tourist scams - if an artist tries to make you sit for free just so he can draw custom, be careful he will convince you to buy the painting! Keep your hands in your pockets if you see anybody trying to sell friendship bracelets, they will be braiding them on your hand before you even realise!

Socially on a budget? Head for the off-license and then to the Sacre Coeur at night time, you will find loads of young people to have fun with and it's one of the best views of Paris you will get!

Bon Voyage!

my friend and I went to Paris in September and we had a VERY limited budget. We ate at the little cafe's and bakeries near Notre Dam. You can find great food inexpensively there. We also rented a GPS device that has walking tours programmed on it. It was AWESOME! Digi-guide is the company. It has over 30 different walking tours on it. You select the tour and it takes you to the attractions you want to see and then it has commentary on it. There are examples on their website http://www.digi-guide.com/uk/ It was great and helped us from getting lost!!! Have fun!

Well, something to do thats free that i absolutely loved, was to wander around the Montmare District. Its right by Sacre Coeur where you have a spectacular view of the city. go there around sunset and watch the city light up. Montmare is the artist district so you can wander there and see artists and eat at some of those restaurants lots have ice cream too.

Eiffel tower is beautiful and its free to look at and walk around the outside. Same with the Louvre. Although i would go inside to see the masterpieces.

There is a boat tour on the seine. Bateaux Mouches that highlights wonders of the city and is inexpensive. Also just wander around the ile de cite. Its an island on the center of the seine.

Paris is a great city to just wander around . I suggest getting the Frommers guide as it helped me a lot when i was in Paris.
