I just got home yesterday from Paris! One day out of 10 there was some rain in the afternoon; the rest of the time it was sunny. The temperature was in the mid-to-upper 60s every afternoon, and in the low 50s every morning.

Take jeans and comfortable walking shoes. Take a mix of short and long sleeved tops. Take one jacket and one sweater that you could wear at the same time if you got cold.

Student aged people mostly were wearing jeans. It was generally only business people and older people who were wearing other types of clothing.

I also saw girls wearing short skirts with opaque tights and flat shoes or boots. Some girls were wearing very long skirts, again with flat shoes. The one key thing you can wear that will help you feel like you fit in is a long scarf. Practically every female person I saw during my 10-day stay had a scarf wrapped around her neck one way or another.

One last bit of advice...as Rillifane stated, it's best to stick with neutral colors. I saw lots of black and gray, along with some brown and navy. Neutral colors allow you to mix and match, so you can take fewer pieces of clothing and still have enough to wear.

It's not that difficult.
The weather is fine but not very warm. So take along a warm coat.
A warm coat, but not too warm, it's no midwinter yet.
Then some sweaters with long sleeves and some jeans or other pairs of trousers. Socks and easy flat shoes, on which you can walk a whole day when you go sightseeing.
If you plan to have dinner in a restaurant, you might take a dress and a pair of pumps with you.
Don't be nervous.
Paris is a wonderful city. You will enjoy it.
Whatever you are dressed, isn't that important. Have fun!

Wear what you are comfortable with and don't be concerned with looking like a tourist. You will be only one of tens of thousands of tourists in Paris and I assure you that the Parisians are much too busy getting about their business to pay the slightest notice to you. Besides, the instant you open your mouth people will know you are not a Parisian (even if you speak some French).

You can expect the daily high temperature to be 15-16 degrees celsius (59-62 degrees fahrenheit). You can also expect rain at least every other day during your visit.

Make sure you have a good pair of proper walking shoes, preferably something that is water resistant. Forget fashion. Paris is a city in which you do a lot of walking as a tourist and wet, blistered feet are the last thing you need to deal with.

If you have choices then pick darker clothes and avoid anything that is loud or garish.

Don't overpack clothes; you should save room in your luggage to bring souvenirs home. Bring the absolute minimum of clothes. In France, ppl wear the same clothes 2 even 3 days in a row. Some secretaries only have 2 dresses and some students have only one sweater. These are average French ppl, not homeless ppl. Wear really comfy shoes as you will be walking ALOT-- no spiked heels. Even the dressier shoes should be low heeled. Bring clothes that go well with each other. The worst is bring a pair of shoes that go with only one outfit. If you want to look more "French" and less like a tourist, wear good fitting clothes (but not necessarily skin tight) and keep your camera and map out of sight (taking them out only when you need them). French women also tend to not wear socks or stockings when wearing loafers and jeans. Also, most French adults except for tradesmen tend to not wear jogging shoes or carry back packs. They do carry briefcases. The only French ppl who regularly wear berets are soldiers, war veterans at Armistice Day ceremonies and elderly farmers. Have a great trip!
