The coldest place in France is the Jura, mountainous area well known for its freezing winters. So much so that it is called the little Siberia. Temperatures went as far down as -41C

It snows regularly on the mountains, which France has in plenty. Pyrenees in the south west, Alps in the south east, Jura in the east, Vosges in the North east, Massif Central in the centre south of France.

Then you have the north east area in general which sees snow regularly.

the Jura.
Mouthe, there, is nicknamed the coldest village of France.

The region, Rhone-Alpes. It's a mountainous region, with plenty of snow in the winter. I'm talking a metre of snow at the bottoms of the mountains, and 3 or 4 metres at the top of the mountains!

There's a lot of ski resorts there. A very beautiful area.

Alpes, famous place !

The Rhône Alpes region, especially in the Isère and Haute Savoie valleys and surrounding mountain areas. I would say probably the coldest being Chamonix (as a town) which is near the Mont Blanc mountain (Mont Blanc is a natural border between France, Italy and Switzerland and considered the "Roof of Europe")
You can check out their website if you like:
