There's a cluster of good restaurants, bars and brasseries around the rue des Canettes in the 6e arrondissement. Le Séraphin on rue Mabillon is a particular favourite (you do need to pre-book).
Failing that, local restaurants in Paris offer excellent value in more obscure locations, and with less upbeat surroundings. More residential areas such as the Northern part of the 17e are very good for this: another personal favourite is Au Petit Chavignol, on the rue de Tocqueville. Try the Bavette d'Aloyau with a gratin dauphinois! |

Hello, i am french, i come from Paris.
If you want to eat in a nice place and not expensive, you can go to Châtelet-les-Halles à Paris 1er (near tuileries garden and vendôme). There, you can found many restaurants which are not expensive. To visit paris, you can start to champs elysées, then tuileries garden, then the louvre, Chatelet-les-Halles (to eat), the hotel de ville de Paris (4eme arrondissement), always straight on Place de la Bastille... all that can be done by foot in half a day....Then the second part of the day, going to montmartre (18eme arrdt), then Boulevard Haussmann (famous Galeries Lafayette....) before taking the train Eurostar to uk.
Here is !!!
Have a nice day and an half to Paris, la "ville lumière"...

Sushi is cheap in Paris if you're into that. |

Go to Bercy Village in Paris, it has many choices for food and resionable pricing too. It's a small promanade and at one end there is a large cinema with english and french movies. It's a nice little area, it's also fairly new...maybe 10 years?? But most of all, many places to eat and drink and see a film afterwards...and it has a nice ambience about it with trees and lights. Think about it. It's near the edge of the city close to the "free way". Also Rue de Percy is nice, not quite as touristy as some other places can be. |

Restaurant Chartier. 7 rue du faubourg Montmartre, Paris 9e.
The restaurant, situated in the central Grands Boulevards area, is almost unchanged inside since its conception around 1890, in the art nouveau style.
Entrées start at 2 euros, most are between this and 3,50 euros; main courses from 8,50 to 12,00 or thereabouts, the house wine is fairly cheap, by the carafe, and the service is good. I try to eat there every time i pass through Paris, both for the atmosphere & the food.
They have a website in French & English, which includes the day's menu.
Nearest metro stations are Le Peletier or Cadet, both of which are on line 7.
Bon appetit |

My favorite restaurant in Paris :
Le p'tit Manger
located 51 rue Richard Lenoir 75011 Paris
(metro station Voltaire on line 9)
It's very good french food, with very good wine. The chef choose some wine, and after that he decides which are the best dish to go with the wines. It's not expensive at all.
If you want to eat crèpes (french pancakes), go in Montparnasse. In the Rue du Montparnasse (75014, metro station montparnasse, line 4 or 6 or 12) you'll find many Creperie. The best one is called Josselin.
You can have very good pizzas in the restaurant Le Jardin des Oliviers located 39 rue Albert (75013, metro station Bibliothèque François Mitterand, line 14). The owner is Egyptian, and after eating your pizza, you can have a chicha (arabian water pipe) and a mint tea. |
