Sit down at a - terrasse de café - observe people -
buy books of best french photographers - Arthus-Bertrand is a genius - Cartier-Bresson too, creator of Magnum Agency

Walk along the streets and look for unexpected situations and places - In Paris, the hidden city,
innergardens, "galeries", railway stations, are monuments by themselves - instead of the touristical concentration camp of
the ugly " Galeries Lafayette " go to " Le bon marché " and admire its late XIXth century interior decoration - make pictures of the ceilings, stairs etc - restrain flashing -

Enjoy the bookstore FNAC, in several locations - Virgin is not french -

Paris is like a russian puppet - it is impossible to pretend you know it entirely - if you're deep-minded, you'll get this

Go to the various wine regions and sample some of the delights. Also the food is very good.
If you like champagne, go to Reims and Epernay, the food/drink is excellent.

Good question! Here is a short list:

- wine tasting
- cheese tasting
- visit some castles in the Loire Valley (my region)
- don't just go to Paris and CĂ´te d'Azur
- eat in "brasseries", no need to go to expensive restaurants to discover the real french food

And please, when you are in France, don't be in a rush, enjoy!

ps: bring a dictionnary;)

idiom
Go to Italy.
