Good question! Short answer is yes, it's 220 volts - though I think in the UK it's 240 volts. If you're going on holiday, your appliances will work. If you're going to live there beware. There are places in France which have 110 volts. It took me a whole morning to buy a replacement light bulb. I didn't look too closely and the first one I bought exploded - it was 110 volts. Back to the supermarket. Would you believe it? I picked up a bayonet fitting. I thought only the UK had those. Back again. I looked really carefully and eventually managed to get a screw fitting 220 Volt light bulb.

The whole of Europe runs on 220 volts and use circular 2 pin plugs.

All our brother and sisters in europe have agreed to 220v but its not like that in reality! My UPS says weve got 244v this morning and its true that there is +/- 10%

peter gunn
voltage is 230 volts
you can perfectly run 220 volts appliances on that
but they have different sockets so you need an adapter

your pete
It must be 230volts as they provide about 18% of our electricity needs from their nuclear power stations

alan
yes 220 volts you need a two pin adapter

France and the rest of Europe do run at 220 volts. However in Britain, the voltage is actually 240 volts.

Everything should work across both systems, as slight changes in voltage are common.
