shopping on the Champs Elysees is like shopping on RODEO DRIVE.......thats a wonderful place but one of the most expensive to shop, in the country..... you better go along to some of the addresses stated by previous posters....along with La Defense, St Michel, Chatelet, even les galleries Lafayette which is renown for a tourist spot (bit pricy for french).

It is not true that there are no American-style malls in Paris. There's one under the Tuileries called Carrousel du Louvre. Inside, there's a Sephora, a Lalique boutique, a Virgin store, and many others. There's also Les Halles. This is a multi-level mall that includes FNAC among many other shops. There's another mall that I've been to, but I can't remember the name. It was definitely not Galleries Lafayette, though.

All that being said, it's much more fun to shop at stores along the streets. Someone mentioned the Champs Elysees as a shopping street. That's correct, but there is also boulevard St. Germain, boulevard Sebastopol, rue Montorgueil, rue Mouffetard, many streets in the Marais, and many others. Why not just walk around and see what you find?

rue de rivoli is were u can shop best. the forum des halles isnt far and u can find more shops too but they are generally the same.

then boulevard st michel, same shops but nice area. boulevard st germain starts being posh.

faubourg st honore is very expensive. champs elysees u can find all prices but for example for the same product in Zara, it will be cheaper somewhere else coz the rent is massive in the Champs.

the whole of paris is generally a shopping place. u can find malls like in the US but they are in the suburb. belle epine in thiais is gorgeous

You're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy! Don't bother looking for an American-style mall. Malls do exist in France but since they require so much space they are nearly always out in the suburbs or the edge of town. They are frequently anchored by a large chain supermarchÃ© or hypermarchÃ© such as Auchan or Carrefour. The nearest equivalent to an American-style mall, called Centre Commercial in France, is located at La DÃ©fense. The Forum des Halles, located above the RER-Metro interchange at Les Halles, is another possibility. But why bother; prices are no lower and variety no wider than in the multitude of shops and boutiques to be found lining the streets in downtown Paris. And what greater pleasure than sauntering in and out of little boutiques, dodging busy Parisians dashing home with baguettes under their arms and mobile phones in their hands, a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance, and knowing that you just might bump into Sophie Marceau coming out of the traiteur (deli )? Paris is a joy to shop in because nearly everywhere you go there are always all kinds of stores and boutiques to peer into and browse around in. Paris is different from London, for example, in that the majority of stores are small and independently owned, with far fewer chain stores, and more diversity.

There are no such thing as malls there, Downtown Paris is the best for Boutique shopping...
